BWPFS
is actively seeking new partners, in both the private and public
sectors of land managers, to expand the collaborative efforts for
protecting the ecological services of these lands today and for future
generations. New partners would expand the contiguous managed
landscape under a shared value for the conservation and restoration of
the ecologically important resources and services these lands provide.
Criteria for New Partners:
BWPFS is searching for new partners that would expand the contiguous
managed landscape under a shared value for the conservation and restoration of
the ecologically important resources and services these lands provide.
Partnership Commitments:
As a signatory to the BWPFS, partners would commit to the following activities:
1. Meetings on a monthly basis to:
a. coordinate land management activities on adjoining properties,
b. provide a forum for information exchange, resource sharing and
developing cooperative agreements,
c. develop strategies for natural resource assessment, management,
conservation and restoration,
d. jointly pursue funding opportunities to implement management
strategies and research projects, and
e. conduct outreach activities to recruit new partners, educate public
officials and provide information to the public.
2. Participate in the planning and execution of special events planned by the
partnership. Examples may include facility tours, workshops, training
sessions, etc.
Partnership Financial and Legal Obligations:
There are no binding financial or legal obligations resulting from entering this
partnership. All activities conducted by signatories and financial or in-kind
resource contributions provided by signatories on behalf of BWPFS are
voluntary. Any signatory has the option of withdrawing from the partnership by
providing 90-day notice to the Center for Chesapeake Communities.
